Root canal treatment cost in Noida is ₹3,000 to ₹5,000 per tooth at Family Dental Clinic in Sector 70. A front tooth is about ₹3,000 to ₹4,000 and a molar is ₹4,000 to ₹5,000. Retreatment of a previously treated tooth costs ₹5,000 to ₹6,000 or more. A crown, which most back teeth need afterwards, is priced separately.
Root canal treatment cost in Noida by tooth type
The biggest factor in the price is the tooth itself. Teeth at the front of the mouth have a single root canal. Teeth at the back have more canals, and they are harder to reach and clean. You can read how we treat infected teeth on our root canal treatment page.
| Treatment | Canals | Usual visits | Approximate cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Front tooth (incisor, canine) | 1 | 1 to 2 | ₹3,000 – ₹4,000 |
| Premolar | 1 to 2 | 1 to 2 | ₹3,500 – ₹4,000 |
| Molar | 3 to 4 | 1 to 3 | ₹4,000 – ₹5,000 |
| Re-root canal (retreatment) | Depends on tooth | 2 to 3 | ₹5,000 – ₹6,000+ |
These are approximate ranges, not fixed quotes. Canal shape and the spread of infection can only be judged after a clinical examination and a digital RVG X-ray, so your dentist confirms the final fee before treatment begins.
What the root canal fee includes
Before you compare clinics, ask what each fee covers. A low quote that leaves out X-rays or the filling can end up costing more. At Family Dental Clinic the root canal fee covers the following.
Included
- Examination and diagnostic X-ray
- Local anaesthesia
- Rubber dam isolation
- Cleaning and shaping of the canals
- Canal filling and sealing
- Temporary or permanent filling
Billed separately
- Crown or cap
- Post and core build-up
- CBCT (3D) scan, if your case needs one
- Medicines
- Retreatment of a tooth treated elsewhere
Crown cost after a root canal
A tooth that has had a root canal is drier and more brittle than a healthy tooth. Back teeth take heavy chewing forces, so they nearly always need a crown to prevent cracking. Front teeth sometimes get away with a filling if enough natural tooth is left. Your dentist will tell you which applies to you.
A dental crown (cap) at Family Dental Clinic costs ₹2,500 to ₹15,000, depending on the material you choose.
| Crown type | Best for | Cost within the range |
|---|---|---|
| Metal-ceramic (PFM) | Budget-friendly restoration for back teeth | Lower end |
| Zirconia | Strong, natural-looking crown for molars and premolars | Middle to upper |
| All-ceramic (e.max) | Front teeth where appearance matters most | Upper end |
Total cost = root canal fee + crown fee. For example, a molar root canal (₹4,000 to ₹5,000) plus a crown (₹2,500 to ₹15,000) comes to roughly ₹6,500 to ₹20,000. Ask for both figures at the first visit so you know the full amount before starting.
What affects the cost of a root canal
Two clinics can quote very different prices for the same tooth. These are the reasons.
- Which tooth it is
- More canals mean more time and more materials. Molars cost more than front teeth for this reason.
- How bad the infection is
- An abscess or swelling may need extra visits, medication or drainage before the canals can be sealed.
- Shape of the canals
- Curved, narrow or calcified canals are harder to clean and take longer.
- First treatment or retreatment
- Redoing a root canal means removing the old filling first, which adds time and complexity.
- Technology used
- Rotary files, electronic apex locators, digital X-rays and dental microscopes improve accuracy and comfort, and they add to the clinic’s costs.
- Who treats you
- An endodontist (root canal specialist) usually charges more than a general dentist, especially for difficult cases.
- Materials and restoration
- The type of canal filling material and the crown you choose change the final bill.
Root canal vs extraction: which costs less?
Pulling a tooth is cheaper on the day, but it rarely stays cheaper. A gap lets neighbouring teeth drift, the opposite tooth grows downwards, and the jawbone where the tooth was starts to shrink. Most people end up replacing the tooth with a dental implant (from ₹25,000 at our clinic) or a bridge.
A root canal plus a crown keeps your natural root and the bone around it. In most cases the combined cost is lower than extraction plus replacement.
Extraction is the better choice when a tooth cannot be restored, for example when the root is cracked vertically, too little healthy tooth remains, or bone loss is severe. Your dentist will explain which situation you are in after an X-ray, and if a tooth truly cannot be saved we perform painless tooth extraction.
Signs you may need a root canal
- A toothache that lingers or wakes you at night
- Pain when you bite or press on the tooth
- Sensitivity to hot or cold that lasts after the drink is gone
- Swollen or tender gum around one tooth
- A pimple-like bump on the gum
- A tooth that has turned darker than its neighbours
- A deep cavity or a cracked tooth
Some infected teeth cause no pain at all, and the problem only shows on an X-ray. If a tooth has been sore, swollen or sensitive for more than a few days, get it examined.
What happens during root canal treatment
- Exam and X-rayYour dentist checks the tooth, takes an X-ray and confirms the diagnosis and the price.
- NumbingLocal anaesthetic numbs the tooth and the area around it.
- IsolationA rubber dam keeps the tooth dry and free of saliva and bacteria.
- Cleaning and shapingThe dentist opens the tooth, removes the infected pulp, measures each canal with an apex locator, then cleans and shapes it with rotary files and disinfecting solution.
- Sealing the canalsThe cleaned canals are filled with gutta-percha and a sealer to keep bacteria out.
- Temporary or permanent fillingThe opening in the tooth is closed to protect it until the final restoration.
- CrownIf needed, a crown is fitted in a follow-up visit, usually within a few weeks.
How long does it take? Most root canals need one or two visits of 45 to 90 minutes. Expect some tenderness for a few days. Avoid chewing hard food on that side until the tooth has its permanent restoration.
For an independent overview of the treatment, read the NHS guide to root canal treatment. Results are good: a five-year study of 816 treated teeth found an overall success rate of about 89%, with better outcomes in less severe cases.
Root canal myths
“A root canal is very painful.”
With modern anaesthesia the procedure feels much like getting a filling. The pain people remember comes from the infection, not from the treatment.
“It is better to pull the tooth.”
Saving your own tooth is usually healthier and, once replacement costs are counted, cheaper. Extraction makes sense only when the tooth cannot be saved.
“Root canals make you ill.”
This idea goes back to a century-old theory and has not held up in modern research. A properly treated tooth is a safe way to remove infection.
“It takes many long appointments.”
Most teeth are completed in one or two visits. Only complicated or badly infected teeth need more.

Root canal treatment cost in Noida: frequently asked questions
How much does a root canal cost in Noida?
At Family Dental Clinic, root canal treatment costs about ₹3,000 to ₹4,000 for a front tooth, ₹3,500 to ₹4,000 for a premolar and ₹4,000 to ₹5,000 for a molar. Retreatment of a previously treated tooth costs ₹5,000 to ₹6,000 or more. The exact fee is confirmed after an examination and digital X-ray. A crown, if needed, is billed separately.
Why does a molar root canal cost more than a front tooth?
A front tooth usually has one canal. A molar has three or four, and they are often narrow or curved. Each canal has to be found, cleaned, shaped and sealed, so the treatment takes more time and skill.
Is the crown included in the root canal price?
No. The root canal fee covers cleaning and sealing the inside of the tooth. A crown is a separate procedure and costs ₹2,500 to ₹15,000 depending on the material. Back teeth almost always need one because a root-canal-treated tooth is more brittle.
Is root canal treatment painful?
The tooth is numbed with local anaesthetic, so most people feel pressure but not pain during the procedure. The pain people associate with root canals comes from the infection, not the treatment. Mild tenderness for a few days afterwards is normal and is managed with the medicines your dentist prescribes.
How many visits does a root canal take?
Many teeth can be finished in one visit of 45 to 90 minutes. Teeth with a severe infection, an abscess or complicated canals may need two or three visits so that the infection is fully cleared before the canals are sealed.
Is a root canal cheaper than extraction and an implant?
Usually, yes. Extraction costs less on the day, but replacing the tooth with an implant, which starts from ₹25,000 at our clinic, or with a bridge adds considerably to the bill. A root canal plus a crown keeps your own tooth and the bone around it, and the total is normally lower than extraction plus replacement.
What does re-root canal treatment cost?
Retreatment costs about ₹5,000 to ₹6,000 or more at Family Dental Clinic. It costs more than a first-time root canal because the old filling material has to be removed before the canals can be cleaned again.
Does health insurance cover root canal treatment in India?
Most standard health policies in India exclude routine dental treatment unless it is needed after an accident or involves hospitalisation. Check your policy wording or ask your insurer before you rely on cover.
Can I pay for a root canal in instalments?
EMI options are available on larger treatments such as dental implants, aligners and smile makeovers. Ask our team at the clinic whether an instalment plan can be arranged for your root canal and crown.
What happens if I delay a root canal?
An infected tooth does not heal by itself. Waiting lets bacteria spread into the bone around the root, which can cause an abscess, facial swelling and bone loss. Late treatment is more complex and more expensive, and the tooth may no longer be savable.
